Title: Police clash with protesters outside Greek parliament
Who: Greek Police and Greek protesters
What: The Greek people are prosteting and are on strike because the Greek parlament voted on austerity, which rasies taxes and cuts govenment benifits (people pay more for health care, reseve less pensions - retirement payment from the govenment, what the U.S. calles the Social Security, and cuts budgets)
When: Currently-the Greeks are protesting right now (10/19/11)
Where: Greece
Why do we care: We care because the Greek govenment owes the European and the U.S. banks a big sum of money. If the Greek banks can’t pay off the debt, it could cause harm to the U.S. economy, and it could cause the banks to fail.

Jena,
First off, thank you so much for your super nice praising comment! I really appreciate it! In responce to your question: The Greek government owes the U.S. banks a great deal of money, I think I may have made that sentance a bit confusing. I am not sure however why the Greek government owes us or the U.S. a lot of money, that would be a great thing for me to add in, I’ll try to do some more reasearch on that, add it in my blog, and get back to you on that! Anyway, thank again for your awsome comment! See you in school and next friday!

That was a great Current Events! I didn’t know that! The most interesting part was the “Why do we care” to me. I don’t think anyone would’ve thought to do that! Thanks for telling me!
