Many of you have heard of or read the book Homeless Bird. If not,it’s a wonderful book by Gloria Whelan you should definitely get it. Now I’m here to tell you the important elements of Homeless Bird. Characters the characters of Homeless Bird are : Koly(the main character), Sass(the mother in law), Baap (Koly’s father), Sassur (koly’s father in law), Hari (Koly’s husband), Chandra (Koly’s sister), Maa (Koly’s mom), Mr. Lal (the doctor, husband of Mrs Lal.) Another element is the mood, the mood of Homeless Bird is sad depressing and mysterious because Koly’s husband died and now she lives with only a sister, mother and father. The theme of Homeless Bird is probably determination and perseverance because from what we know so far Koly will have to have and show both of those to live the rest of her life. The setting of Homeless Bird is the Ganges River, the Mehtas home, Koly’s home, the wedding ceremony and the train traveling to the Ganges River.

My Gift of Time
For my gift of time I chose to do many things.I did things such as spending time with the elderly (grandparents), reading to children, doing chores that were not regular, donating to a shelter technically Good Will and helping a neighbor. My favorite gift of time job was reading to children actually my brother and my sister. Sometimes I feel like I don’t do enough for them. I also like donating items we don’t need to good will. You get more space and the feeling that you helped someone in need. Of course it’s always fun to play and spend time with grandparents. You can play board games tell jokes and all kinds of stuff. I look forward to doing more gifts of time.

My thanksgiving
For my Thanksgiving I went up to my grandparents house in Tennessee. When we got to my grandparents house it turns out that nobody was home. So my brother and I started to play football. Then when my grandfather came home my sister and my brother bombarded him like trolls. After that we played football for a while then got ready for dinner at my cousins house ( day before thanksgiving ). For dinner we had chili, Fritos, tater tots and french fries. I was going to sleep over at my cousins house so my cousin and I played Xbox for like 30 minutes then we went to bed. In the morning I stayed at Brandon my cousins house till 12:00. Next my family and I went to the driving range. I did fairly bad. Now it’s time for thanksgiving dinner. I had ham a turkey leg some rolls and cranberry sauce. After everybody left I went to watch TV with my brother and sister and then we went to bed.

Mesopotamian gods and myths Blog entry By: Bill
My essential questions: 1 why did the Mesopotamians need so many gods? Question 2Why did the Mesopotamians make so many or believe in so many myths about gods and goddesses? 3 How did the Mesopotamians remember to worship all the gods and goddesses? 4 Who were the gods and goddesses and why were they important? I chose the topic Mesopotamian gods and myths because my favorite books are mythology books. I thought it would be cool and fun to research and learn more about them.
This paragraph will be about the facts and evidence behind the questions and also facts I learned while studying Mesopotamian gods and goddesses. The Mesopotamians needed so many gods so they could have enough responsible leaders to spread out and help citizens across the world so they will have strength through their lifetime. The Mesopotamians remembered to worship all the gods because the scribes would write a big list of the gods and when to worship them. This is a list of some of the most important god’s goddesses and demons: Ishkur, Martu, An, Anzu, Apkallu, Abzu, Ashur, Bull man, Bull of heaven, Dumuzi, Enki, Enlil, Ereshikgal, Gula, Human-headed bulls, Huwawa, Ishtar, Lama, Lamashtu, Lamassu, Marduk, Mushhushshu, Nabu, Nergal, Ninhursag, Ninurta, Pazuzu, Scorpion people, Utu, Sin and Ismud. All the gods were important because they were “responsible for everything in the world, from rivers and mountains to making bread or pottery.” The Mesopotamians made myths about gods because that was their tradition to pass down the myths generation by generation.
This paragraph will be my reflection, what went well and what didn’t go well and also what I learned. What I learned, I learned that the Mesopotamians needed a lot of gods to run their “perfect” land. What went well, 1 I found a great story that I could transform into a comic, 2 there was lots of sturdy information to write down for my project. What didn’t go well was drawing the gods because on my examples the gods were very detailed. It was also difficult to make the stories make sense while making them much shorter. So that’s my blog.
