Campbell,
That sounds so fun! Your family sounds like mine! Also, your dinner sounds like mine. I also had a great Thanksgiving! I am with my two grandmothers, my uncle, my aunt, my two cousins ( Taylor and Michelle~ they are twins and turned 14 today! Ya! Happy Birthday!) We are at our mountain house in Ellijay and we had a blast today! We had many of the same food you did! Happy Thanksgiving!

I really agree! I look at pictures and videos, and I realized these amazing moments with friends and family will never repeat themselves! Thank you so much that made me see a picture frame in a new prospective!

Wow! This is very deep, and I love how you compare the calendar to the photo. I began thinking about all my pictures--in Jackson Hole, Innsbruck, Munich, my wedding day, snow days, and so much more. These are such treasured moments that will never come again.

I never thought of it that way. I never looked on the bright side. I think that from now on (because of this comment) I will look at other perspectives. Thank you so much Ms. Howard!

Ugh...having a lingering injury stinks, doesn't it? I am catching up on blog posts on this chilly November Saturday and read your post and just had to comment...first, to tell you that I'm proud of you and your resilience and second, to offer you some advice.

First, I know you'll be back on the recess field or back doing P.E. with the rest of your classmates so soon! Your physical therapy is so important and it sounds like you are 100% committed to that! So, keep doing what you're doing!

Second, as I read your post I kept thinking about the word "perspective." Being hurt (and having to sit on "the sidelines") is never fun...but how can you use this experience to gain a *different* perspective regarding you and/or the people/things around you. Observing (rather than doing) is often something that we don't do as much as we should...and I see that you have some good opportunities to observe and reflect. You know how they say you have two ears and two eyes (and only ONE mouth) for a reason...and that is to look and listen and not to talk as much?! Well, how can you use this time (and use it to your advantage!) to gain some extra or different perspectives!

Hi Campbell,
I know it feels like forever for your heel to heal but it'll heal. I completely understand your lonesome and i know it is hard to have people think you are pretending to be hurt. I wish at recess we could have the real supporting you there, but it is hard to be that while in pain.
Can not wait for the real you!,
