My question is “How is the Phoenician alphabet similar or different to our alphabet?” I chose this topic because I like learning about different languages that don’t exist anymore. I like to learn what old languages look like, too. It is fascinating to learn about a language that is the root of many of our current languages.
The Phoenician alphabet developed from the Proto-Canaanite alphabet. The Phoenician alphabet has 22 letters and we have 26 letters. Also, the Phoenician alphabet has no vowels and we have vowels. The Phoenician language is the root of many other languages including Latin, and Greek. The letters in the Phoenician alphabet look similar to the letters we use today. It is easy to see how the English language came from Phoenician.
I think I did well because I found a lot of information and I am very proud of my project. I wish I could’ve been more wise with the timing of my project. Other than that I loved doing the project an I had a lot of fun.
