Really Scary Stories for Halloween!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween! Here is a very scary story:

Yellow Taxi

The Yellow Taxi is a creepy tale from Korea about a young man and two girls who are on their way home one night, when they encounter something horrible.

A few years ago, I travelled to South Korea to teach English. I was living in an apartment which I shared with two Korean girls named Mi Sun and Hwa Young. One night, we went to a nightclub. The two girls and I had some drinks and danced for hours. At the end of the night, we decided to get a taxi home.

Outside the nightclub, I waved at a yellow taxi that was passing by. It stopped and we got inside. I was sitting in the front seat and my two friends were sitting in the back seat.

The taxi driver was an odd fellow. He spoke very good English and began telling us some jokes. He was actually quite funny and I found myself laughing at everything he said. When I glanced behind me, I noticed that Mi Sun and Hwa Young were not laughing at all. In fact, they were sitting there, stone-faced, with a really odd expression on their faces.

“What’s wrong”, I asked. “Why aren’t you laughing?”

They wouldn’t answer me. Instead, they sat there in the back seat, staring straight ahead.

Suddenly, Hwa Young leaned forward and said something to the taxi driver in Korean.

He pulled over to the side of the road and the two girls got out of the yellow taxi and started walking away quickly.

I was puzzled. This wasn’t our stop. In fact, we were nowhere near our apartment. I paid the driver and ran after the two girls.

“What’s the matter?” I asked when I caught up with them.

They turned to me, their faces white with fear.

“We have to call the police!” said Hwa young.

“Didn’t you hear it?” said Mi Sun. “Coming from the trunk of the taxi. A woman’s voice saying “Please help me. Please help me.”

Weekley Update 7

This week in Fifth grade has been fun but busy. We are getting our Mesopotamia Tests back right now…. This week we had pumpkin decorating with our pre-k buddies .They  are so cute! We have Miss Coney’s class, they love to paint pumpkins. Mrs. Carter has also decorated our room…. Halloween! We just took our Mesopotamia tests yesterday. The material was concepts, vocabulary, and a map of Mesopotamia! That does not seem like a lot of material but on the test it sure did feel like a lot. Today, was so exiting we had media! Not just normal media but an extra special media we got to try foods from the Mesopotamian times. We have been working a lot on Mesopotamia a few days a go starting Monday we had to comment on other peoples blogs. We first got a worksheet and went out in the hall and looked at the projects. There were very cool projects, so we went on their blogs and commented.

This week our Sixth Grade Leadership Class went to Jekyll, so Mrs. Edwards is not here to teach us science. But that is o.k because we have Mrs. Harrison, Virginia’s mom teaching us. Mr. Parrish is also gone to, and so is Coach Brien our P.E teacher. In science we have been doing an experiment we poured three fourths of a cup of water, and we are seeing how long it will take to evaporate. We also, made drawings of the water cycle.  In our drawings we had to include all of the elements of the water cycle. This morning Mr. Val put on an awesome show. He carved a bird out of an apple. He said that he learned how to do it in chef school. I would love to learn how to do that!

Tomorrow, we have a math test. It is on dividing decimals, mean, median, mode, and range, some questions about remainders.Ms. Eyles showed us how to divide with decimals on this awesome website. The website is khanacademy.org there you can learn how to do many things go at your own rate, and do exercises. In World Languages,  we have been doing a lot of Rosetta stone. We also have been cutting our language learning into chunks we have been doing, vocabulary, sentences, and more.We also have a field trip on Friday! We are going to the world congress center! Mrs. Garcia let us tally what lunch we want sun butter, cheese, or turkey. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

WW story

Wow! Mr.Val that is an awesome bird apple! Thanks kids!A few hours pass now school is over. The classroom is really bare there is an eclipse. The beautiful apple bird sits there with great posture, ready to attack at any minute. The apple has been waiting to evolve for over thirty years and now it is its time.He is so deft. The apple is now alive. He gets up so tranquil, pounces on the table. He is tearing everything up he jumps on the fire alarm. Briiiiiiing! The alarm rang the scary chicken started going nuts. For some some reason he is acting tentative……. it is the stuffed animal he is tearing it up. Morning comes.”Good morning Mrs.Carter”. “What happened”?

Mespotamia Blog Entry

My essential question is “What are similarities and differences between the bible flood and Mesopotamian”? I chose this topic because I really enjoy studying myths. I have learned some information about Noah’s ark, so I thought I could compare the two floods. I was first really interested in the Mesopotamian flood. I didn’t think I should just do that one flood, so I was thinking about other floods in history. I came across Noah’ ark. I found out that they both have many similarities and differences. I also, did not just want to compare in differences or with just similarities. I decided that I could do both! My topic interests me because I like to compare things and, I am interested about myths and floods. I like how the two stories are different and similar in many ways. I really hope you enjoy the rest of my blog post!

There are many similarities and differences between the bible flood, and the Mesopotamian flood. First, in the two floods Utnapishtim and Noah let doves go. Next, both Noah and Enlil built boats so they would not drown in the flood. They both got very angry with humans. Next, put every kind of animal on the boat. Third, Noah, Enlil, and the gods had the same idea to get rid of evil. Finally, Noah, Enlil , and the gods survived both floods. Here are some differences. God made it rain for forty days and forty nights; it was only 6 days and seven nights for Enlil and the gods. Next, God sent doves, Utnapishtim sent doves and a raven. The raven did not return Gods dove did. Next, Noah’s sons assembled the boat, Enlil hired workers.Only Noah and his family survived. Enlil was so furious that people survived he went out to kill Utnapishtim .Lastly, Utnapishtim was kept in hiding in a house with his wife and a life- time supply of food.God made a rainbow promising never to make another flood.

I have really enjoyed learning about both the Mesopotamian flood and the Noah’s ark flood. These floods both have many similarities and differences. Many things went well in this project. First, I had a lot of fun researching. It makes it a lot easier to research when you are really interested in a topic. Another, thing that went well was they both had enough information about them for me to make differences and similarities. Also, I really think in these projects I planned everything out and worked hard and efficiently. Here are some things that did not go as well. It was hard when I would find some research, and then I would find some other research from another source and it would be the opposite of the information I had before.  Next, it was challenging to find resources at first. For example, when I first was researching it was challenging to find the story of the great Mesopotamian flood. It was a lot easier to find information on Noah’s Ark. Overall, I really enjoyed my project, and I think it went very well.

Wordly Wise 4

They were just two normal kids. They lived in the deep mountains of North Dakota. There names were Amy and Sal and there lives were going to change for ever.  Amy and Sal were sitting on the sidewalk wondering what to do,  when they saw something. Under a bush they could see something shiny. It looked really interesting so Amy and Sal went to go check it out. They were walking toward it and it just got more shiny and more shiny. When they got there it looked like the big shiny thing were sort of like nun chucks. They didn’t know what it was so they left it alone. Pretty soon there mom called for dinner. After, dinner they both came back outside but this time the nun chucks had writing on them.It said “walk five more inches if you want to experience the best day ever”. But Amy and Sal did know if they should Elude. But they walked five more inches any way. “Ahhhhhhh”! They both screamed “Help”! as they went plummeting through the air down a hole. After falling for 10 minutes straight a voice came as if it were being spoken from a loud speaker. The voice said ‘welcome to the world of inflatable”.”Huh”? they said every thing here is inflatable and extremely flammable. Finally when they hit the bottom they realized the world looked like it was a tent.Being moored to the ground with ropes. “Wow this is cool”! Amy said.”Yes”said the voice every thing here is clean not one drop of water is polluted. “I really hope we are not in jeopardy”! Amy said.”Amy”! A voice screamed “You will be in jeopardy if you don’t stop day dreaming in class”! To the principals office, not again.
