About Your Teachers
We are so excited to teach your children this year! In order to get to know us better, we thought that we would share a little bit about ourselves.
Amanda Wilson
I am originally from Greenville, South Carolina. I am married to my husband, Frank, and have a yellow lab, Millie. I also have an identical twin sister and a younger sister. I went to college at the University of Virginia and moved to Atlanta immediately after graduation. After moving to Atlanta, I received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Mercer University. I have taught at Trinity for the past 8 years and have held a variety of roles during that time. I have loved teaching First Grade for the last 5 years because of the amazing academic, social and emotional growth that is seen in each child during this school year. I look forward to getting to know each of your children and am excited for a fun-filled year ahead!

I am originally from Long Island, New York where I spent my childhood. I went to the University of Maryland, College Park, where I received my BS. I also have my Masters in Education with a Specialization in Reading from Johns Hopkins University. After college I made Silver Spring, MD my home until 3 1/2 years ago when I moved to Georgia with my family. My husband, Kareem, and I have two daughters, Kamryn (7) and Kendall (4). Being a mom is so much fun and so rewarding. I love watching my girls grow. I delight in their enthusiasm as they learn something new each day. These are some of the reasons I love teaching First Grade. It is such an amazing year of growth for students, especially in the areas of reading acquisition and social/ emotional development. Although, I have taught for almost 14 years, each day is different from the next and is filled with the discovery of something new!
What fun it will be to learn more about each other as the year progresses!
